Fair Market Rent Lookup: HUD FY2027 Data by Metro Area or Nonmetro County
FMRs are HUD's estimate of 40th-percentile gross rent (shelter rent plus utilities) for recent movers in standard units.
An FMR is not a voucher amount. Each housing authority sets its own payment standards, normally between 90% and 110% of the FMR; HUD rules also allow exception amounts above 110% in some cases. Where HUD requires Small Area FMRs, or a housing authority has chosen to use them, payment standards are based on ZIP code rents, not the area-wide FMR shown here. Ask your housing authority for its payment standard.
2,588 distinct HUD FMR areas, published as 2,631 area pages on 51 state pages. An area in more than one state has a page in each state. The fiscal year on this page is FY2027.
